Hot off the presses!! 

This summer, the National Science Foundation (NSF) is sponsoring a brand-new paid Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) for Native students at C-MORE or another NSF Science and Technology Center (application & more information attached; deadline is Feb 28)

Eligibility: This program is for Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, Native Americans, and Alaska Natives. You must be either an undergraduate or recent graduate (graduated on/after May 2014.)

Research Areas: Oceanography, Chemistry, Remote Sensing, Material Science and Computer Science.  Each participating Science and Technology Center has a different area of research.

Location: See attached for participating Science and Technology Centers. When you submit your application, please indicate which Centers you are most interested in, and rank them (1=first choice, 2=second choice, etc).

Stipend: You will receive $4600 for participating for 10 weeks (dates are somewhat flexible). Some centers may be willing to host you for a shorter time period, and your pay will be prorated ($460/week).

Travel and Housing: You will receive additional funds to cover the full cost of travel and housing.  In other words, all of your expenses are paid, plus you will receive a generous stipend.
