About the Presenter:

Dr. Gloria Wiens has been serving as an ?ASME Foundation Swanson Fellow? at the
Advanced Manufacturing National Program Office since 2013.  In this office,
she has been serving as a lead government support (aka the executive
secretary) for the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership:  AMP 2.0 Steering
Committee which is a Committee of the President?s Council of Advisors on
Science and Technology (PCAST).

In addition, Dr. Wiens is associate professor in Mechanical and Aerospace
Engineering at the University of Florida. She holds a PhD in mechanical
engineering from the University of Michigan, and MS and BS in mechanical
engineering from Kansas State University. She has held/holds numerous
positions in ASME, including Manufacturing Engineering Division Chair and a
member of Mechanisms Committee.    Dr. Wiens is also the director of the
Space, Automation, and Manufacturing Mechanisms (SAMM) Laboratory at the
University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She teaches and conducts research
in the areas of dynamics and controls of mechanisms and robotic systems with
applications in micro/mesoscale manufacturing, small satellites deployable
systems and biomedical devices.
